How Much Weight Have We Gained?

Saturday October 1st, marked the launch of the Municipal Food Drive at the Brantford Farmers’ Market. Brantford local delegates, Food Bank staff, volunteers and supporters of the Farmers’ Market helped with the launch by collecting non-perishable, fresh and frozen products. The Food Bank asks for your support to assist families by making food donations to help reach its goal of 30,000lbs of food through October 1 through 31.

The Brantford Food Bank provides food to over 1,150 households per month through its Emergency Food Bank Service. With Thanksgiving being only a few weeks away, donations are needed for families who could use some help to provide nourishing meals for their families.

Food items that are most needed include:

Canned pasta

Canned fruit

Canned meat (tuna, chicken, etc.)

Pork and beans

Peanut butter

Canned tomatoes

Fresh produce, eggs and dairy products

Frozen meant, fruit and vegetables

The Food Bank is able to accept fresh and frozen food at its distribution location at 1100 Clarence Street South. The Food Bank is open for food donation drop-off Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 11:45 am, and 12:45 to 4:30 pm. Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the same location, or at most local grocery stores.
