The Stuff a Backpack Program is offered to Brantford Food Bank clients who are unable to afford new school supplies for their children. As the number of Food Bank clients continue to grow, so does the need for this program. We are extremely grateful for the generosity and support of organizations, community groups and local agencies.
With their help, we are able to share the costs to purchase backpacks for the program and fill them with essential school supplies. Families can register a maximum of 2 children per family.
Registration for the program begins in July and has a limited amount of spaces. Once the spaces are filled, names can be added to a waiting list. Those on the waiting list would be contacted should additional backpacks become available as a result of donations from the public. Registered participants will receive their backpack during the last week of August.
In 2016, we were able to provide backpacks to 360 children.
